About Us
Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue was founded in 1956, when a few of the residents realized the need for a fire department.

The fire department currently has approximately 30 members. We are always looking for new members to assist with many aspects of the department. We have a ladies auxiliary which is always looking for some young, new members. We also can use help with raising funds for the department.

Our department responds to approximately 130 calls a year. The calls range from medical calls to fires. We also assist the neighboring fire departments when needed.

Besides fundraising and calls, you can normally find us improving our skills on Tuesday nights. Our monthly meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month and invite any of the residents to attend.

Our hope is that this web page will help us communicate with the people of the township and keep you informed of what we are doing!!
We are always looking for people to join our department. We have many different areas that you can choose to be apart of. If you are not interested in being a firefighter or EMT we also have a auxillary and executive positions. If you are interested in joing this elite group of men and women fill out the form on the contact sheet and someone will get back with you! You can also stop by the station on the second Wednesday of every month and sit in on our monthly meeting.

Spring is finally upon us! I would like to remind everyone to be careful when burning outside. Remember to keep your fires contained and try not to burn on dry, windy days!
